Asian Clothing :)
Hmm.. I think Im gonna start a new line of posts!
As you can see, it’s going to go about Asian clothing :)
Like,, Japanese, Chinese, … All kinds of Asian clothing!
Street styles, Traditional, ANYTHING!
- If you want to propose anything :) I’m always up to new ideas !
Im gonna start with the traditional Japanese KIMONO!
A Kimono is the national Costume of Japan.
Kimono are T-shaped, straight-lined robes that fall to the ankle, with collars and wide, full-length sleeves.
They are secured with a white belt, called an Obi. (Sash)
I’ll you give you an Idea of what they look like, Kay? :D
I must say, this kimono looks Magnificent!
It’s really soo beautiful!
I wonder what it would be like to be able to wear such a nice thingy :)
You see the Shoes on the bottom right?
Those kind of particular shoes or called Geta (or Zori).
They are usually weared with Split-toe socks, called tabi.
Kimono are very hard to wear as they consist of many layers.
Geisha, Japanese Female entertainers, had people who were professionals at
doing their jobs, dressing their Client Geisha in a kimono.
According to the season, people wear different Kimono’s, with different patterns on them.
For Example, a butterfly, cherry or flower pattern is used in spring.
Kimono’s have many many layering as I mentioned already !
It’s incredible how people manage to put all THOSE things on in the correct manner O:
I’m amazed xD Really, It’s an art itself to be able to put on a kimono ..
That many parts,.. >.> 16 Exactly :p
A Full kimono can cost US$20,000 !
But you will have ALL the parts if you buy one of those of course.
12 846 Euro, 10 000 Pounds, 904037 Yen!
Imagine O:
Kimono have different styles, for every occasion and level of formality.
A Furisode is the most formal Kimono worn by unmarried woman.
Furisode have VERY long sleeves with bright patterns.
The Tsukesagi is more modest and less bright.
It can also be worn by married woman!
It’s also much less formal than the Furisode
Iromuji is a one color style kimono that’s mostly worn to Tea-Ceremonies.
Usually, Iromuji have no patterns at all.
Very plain :p
Uchikake is a bridal sort of kimono.
It’s used as a kind of coat as it is worn above the actual kimono and obi
Usually, the base color is red or white.
Hmm.. I think that’s all for today!
I’m going to have a next post about Japanese Street Style
(Cosplay, Lolita, Decora,;… )
Or about Traditional Chinese Clothing!
Be sure to let me know or comment something!
I’ll alway comment or email back
